Horse manure
Well its that time of year again when the horse manure has been delivered. Bloody tonnes of it !!!!!!! So im having the afternoon off work to shovel s##t, great !!!!! Oh why did I put my compost bins at the top of my allotment up that big slope and not at the bottom like everybody else !!! why cos im thick thats why !!! Ive planted out some cauliflowers and broccoli this weekend so fingers crossed that we dont get the late frost that we did last year. It absolutely ravaged alot of my crops and they never really got over it. My sweetcorn is also ready for going out and the frost killed them all last year but I have no choice so im crossing my toes as well. Why do I always start things off too early, every year I say I wont but every year I do !!! Just because it says on the seed packet that its time to sow doesnt mean its time for people up north, we have later frosts, I know this but will I ever learn !! No lol Had a good sunday, played in an interleague pool KO at Intake, Sheffield. We didnt win but I won 8 out of 10 so I have to be happy with that. Especially since I was half cut for the last 3 games. NOTE TO SELF:- Do not drink with Speedy at pool comps !!!!

Parsnip Competition
Me and two other plot holders have decided to have a longest Parsnip growing competition and the winner gets a free pint from each of us. Big gambling I know but on of them Gary has already spent £20 on some fallpipe, compost, sand & fish blood and bone for his secret recipe !!! Right if you going to be like that pal time to get down to the shops and buy all the ingredients for my secret recipe (poison to pour down ya fallpipe lol) Got so much to do at the plot that I really dont want to spend any time away from it, in fact I got a nail in my car tire and dont want to have to go to garage and waste half of my weekend. Also I play pool for South Yorkshire County Pool Team which means losing at least a sunday every month plus other matches on Sundays. Oh well less of the moaning, as long as I win the Parsnip comp I will be happy. 'Gary you have just set down the level you want to play at, well pal that level aint high enough for me, off to the shops it is then' !!!!!! lol
Back again
Well I havent managed to get on here for a long time. To be truthful I forgot all about it. Everything is now well on the way down on the plot. I have a new polytunnel which im still kitting out inside with loads of seedling taking shape nicely. I will try and get some photos etc this weekend if the missis lets me get down that is.

more Pictures
July 2009

Hi all, well here we go with a new blog.
Below is a picture of my plot taken in early July
As can be seen the plot is now all raised beds, this has been done due to work commitments and the lack of time I have to maintain it.
I am not convinced about raised beds yet and the amount of space lost to paths but I will give it a go.
Last year the site was tiered and there was alot more growing space.
